How to Enter

  1. Pick your categories. One entry per category, and up to five entries per nominator. Use the forms below each category description to enter. You will use a separate form for each entry, and the payment form to pay for all at once.
  2. Give us a visual. Assemble your work in a single PDF (10MB max), or a webpage. For Online & Mobile entries, just send us a link.
  3.  Finish and submit payment! Double-check your entry, then checkout using our payment form.

Entry Requirements & Scoring

Don’t just show us your work — tell us why it was a great idea and how you know it worked. Your entry should include written description of how your marketing campaign achieved results for each of the five sections detailed below. Remember, brevity rocks!

1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY (up to 10 points)

2. MARKETING OBJECTIVES AND BUDGET (up to 25 points)
Describe the primary marketing objective(s) of the campaign, expected results and the resources (budget) allocated to the campaign. Describe the market characteristics pertinent or challenging to the project (competitive, political, cultural, technological, etc.). Describe the target audience for the project, its pertinent characteristics, demographics, geographics, psychographics, and/or behavioristics.

3. STRATEGY (up to 25 points)
Describe the message, creative, and media strategies for the project. For Integrated Marketing Campaign entries, describe how the campaign was integrated.

4. OUTCOMES (up to 25 points)
Describe the measurable outcomes for the marketing objectives, behavioral objectives, and communication objectives. Describe other pertinent results and anecdotal evidence of success.

5. OVERALL QUALITY OF THE PROJECT (up to 15 points)
Judges will be awarding up to 15 points for overall quality of the project.


Eligibility

Agency or in-house, Super Bowl ad or super niche — if made an impact, we want to see it.

  • You may submit up to one entry per category for a total of five entries.
  • Each entry must be submitted online, via this website.
  • Work should have been developed and implemented between January 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013.
  • Marketing professional living or working in Oregon or SW Washington are eligible to enter.
  • Entrants do not have to be AMA members in order to enter. Current AMA Board members are not eligible, but their respective companies may enter.
  • MAX is open to all marketers including agencies, consultants, corporations and nonprofits. If you have a successful marketing program, we want to know!
  • AMA reserves the right to use project summaries for promotional purposes and to display entry materials.

Marketer of the Year Eligibility
Nominees must be influential in a principal or leadership role in marketing or at a marketing services/consultancy business in Oregon or SW Washington. We are looking for marketers who, throughout their careers, have modeled exemplary leadership and marketing skills in an agency, corporate or local business role. If you know a marketer who always seems to be one step ahead of everyone else, we want to know and recognize their lifetime achievement.

Rising Star Eligibility
Nominees must be active in marketing or marketing services/consultancy businesses that are headquartered or have a subsidiary in Oregon or SW Washington. We are looking for nominees who have worked in a marketing role for less than ten years and who have proven to be up-and-coming leaders within the marketing industry by demonstrating fresh creativity and marketing excellence. If you know an up-and-coming marketer that everyone should watch, we want to know.
